I’ve heard commercial dog food is unhealthy and that EVO is the healthiest dog food it gets, so how much is EVO compared to iams?
I have a pug mixed with alittle bit of beagle, but shes the same size as a pug would be.

It’s not that commercial dog food is unhealthy, it’s just that if your dog has food allergies some of the ingredients in the less expensive dog foods may be the problem, such as corn, wheat, soy, or any of the by-products. If your dog does not have allergy problems, intestinal problems, there would be no reason to switch. Many of the lower cost kibbles have adjusted their ingredients to reflect what the dog owners are requiring of their kibbles, so I really wouldn’t be concerned. EVO is no better than any of the other high end kibbles, although the protein percentage is a little high, especially if you have a breed prone to kidney problems.
I raised my Miniature Schnauzers on Purina Puppy Chow, and then Purina Dog Food for 20 years and never had a problem with it. All my dogs lived to a healthy ripe old age between 15 and 16 years.
