I have a Chihuahua, he is now three and is still well tamed, and I want to start brushing his teeth before he gets too old. Is he too old though?
Also, in reference to the question I first asked, can I use a regular toothbrush or is there a special toothbrush for dogs?
Another question: is there dog tooth paste that would be more beneficial to my dog? If so, in your own opinion, which isn’t necessary to answer: what would be the best kind?
Any additional information, that is relevant to the topic, would be great.

Any dog toothpaste with enzymes is fine. Flavor doesn’t matter.
Because your dog’s so small, you might want to use a child’s toothbrush on him – regular would be a bit big for his mouth.
He’s not too old to start having his teeth brushed daily, but if he’s already got tartar, brushing won’t help. He’d need either a dental from the vet or raw bones to chew on regularly (which is the best for keeping teeth clean and healthy).
