My neighbor just found out that his dog has cancer in almost all of her organs… he took her to the vet because she stopped eating, they did all sort of tests and the awful diagnosis came out.
She is dying for sure. and I offered him to go to his place as often as needed when he is not there, either to give her pain killers or to keep her company ( he is always home anyway, but I offered anyway)
I could give her treats… and delicious food too.
do you have other ideas to support my neighbor and his dog?
He is very nice and his dog is his baby, and they had long years together and I know it’s going to be tough the next weeks.
I’ve known him for a year. I have dogs too, so we talked today about his dog, and he kept talking and talking and talking, and I think he knows that I know how he must feel as I love my dogs as much he loves his dog. but besides being there when he needs me, I don’t know what else to do. My husband also talked to him. so he knows he can count on us.

Maybe put together some pictures of your neighbor and his dog if you have access to any. Also you could look into creamating the dog and placing it in a marble box so the neighbor could keep him in the home. I would ask if there is anything you could do as far as assisting in digging a grave or whatever when the time comes. I am glad you are such a caring neighbor.
